Australia Day, with thanks to all Australians
Jan 26, 2017I give thanks for the people whose long occupation of this land made it’s plants and animals and birds what they were when my ancestors arrived.
I give thanks that I can walk alongside these people today.
I give thanks for my ancestors, who – by choice or force – left their homes so far away and sailed for these white shores, without iPhones or internet.
I give thanks for what Australia is today – a land of many peoples and unique wildlife and wide open spaces.
I give thanks for my family and friends with whom I share this special land.
I give thanks for today.
